A visual narrative that explores relationship dynamics through fashion.

Colours May Bleed (2024)

Thesis Experimental Fashion Film

Work Pre-Production, Casting, Direction, Sound Design, Post-Production Coloring

A visual exploration of intimacy, power, and emotional transformation—told through the language of fashion, where clothing becomes the most honest reflection of love, distance, and everything in between.

Every look was carefully constructed to reflect not just aesthetics, but the emotional weight of the characters, emphasizing the way we use clothing to communicate without words.

Fashion serves as the most intimate storyteller, revealing the subtle power shifts, emotional vulnerabilities, and evolving desires between two people. Each garment, whether carefully chosen or carelessly discarded, becomes a marker of where they stand with one another.

Shot in quiet, intimate spaces where the setting fades into the background, allowing the focus to remain entirely on the body language, the way clothing shifts and moves with emotion.

The wardrobe is an intentional mix of archival vintage and contemporary fashion, creating a sense of timelessness—because love, loss, and the unspoken dialogue between two people through fashion will always remain the same, no matter the era.

Directed by Mariana Contreras, cinematography by Harry Harper, 1st AD Mar Nisama, photographer Valerie Kwong, stylist Gabriel Irezabal, hair & makeup by Stephanie Ashka and Linman Zhang, cast Igor Laskyi and Emese Lazar.
